INDUCTION HOB

Getting a new hob
FOR REPLACEMENT

Take note whether you are currently using TG (town gas / city gas / PUB gas) or LPG (cylinder gas tank)

Check the cut-out size of your current hob and find replacements based on the cut-out size

How to measure cut-out size?
-
Option 1: Lift up current hob and measure the hole that has been cut in counter to fit your hob

Option 2: If unable to lift hob and there are no ovens underneath your hob, measure cut-out from below the hob

Option 3: Find the cut-out size based on your current model of hob online

TEMPERED GLASS
-
Glass material easier to clean
-
Extra care needed to use and maintain glass to avoid shattering
STAINLESS STEEL

Stainless steel material resistant to corrosion

Prompt cleaning needed for stainless steel top to prevent water marks from forming
STANDARD HOBS

Standard burner hobs are easier to clean due to all the parts being on top of the top plate
INNER BURNER HOBS
-
Inner burner hobs allow for wider flame control and protection from wind which can flicker flames or put out small simmering flames
-
Due to more unique structure of burners sitting within the top plate, inner burners are harder to clean and price point is higher
SUITABILITY FOR INDUCTION HOBS

Only able to support up to 2 zones due to power restrictions or it can cause short circuit in the house

Hoods
Types of hoods available in-store

SLIM HOOD

Compact size helps to save space

Usually works through recirculation mode where airborne grease is filtered through the hood and then returned back into the kitchen as clean air

Filters need to be thrown out and replaced every 6 months to 1 year

Hoods either come with rectifier panels (to allow for multiple oil filtration process) along with oil cup

OR aluminum grease filters making them easier to clean
Model: Rinnai RH-C209-GCR
CHIMNEY HOOD

Larger in size and takes up more space
-
Usually able to to run on recirculation or ventilation modes
-
Ventilation mode not recommended for HDB or apartment buildings as they are usually unable to accommodate for the duct pipes that needs to be installed for directing of air outside
Getting a new hood
FOR REPLACEMENT

Note dimensions (length, width, height) of your current hood and find replacement with similar dimensions
FOR NEW INSTALLATION

Please ensure that at least 500mm of space is left between hob and hood as the hood can be a fire hazard if placed too near to hob

Note dimensions of purchased hood for carpentry works

Ensure that there is power point allocated for the hood as it is electricity operated

CONVECTION OVEN

Up to 17 functions with functions like defrost, circular hot air, bottom heating, full grill

Know and understand functions so that you can utilise your oven to its fullest
MICROWAVE OVEN

Takes up less space due to smaller size
